All Unico disinfectants are tested to the relevant UN standards, but particular attention has been paid to BS: EN1276:2009, as this test is the new minimum standard being enforced by authorities such as Environmental Health and the Food Standards Agency. In addition to this, Unico’s products designed for use in food preparation and manual dishwashing areas have been tested to a 30-second contact time to reduce the chances of incorrect use of the product (in comparison to the more common test of 5 minutes). Unico’s Product Development team have created a new product called Sterex+ which has been specifically designed for manual dishwashing, which now requires a two-stage process. Stage 1 involves visibly cleaning dishes in one sink (requiring only a normal detergent, but Sterex+ can also be used) and Stage 2 where the dishes are cleaned in a second sink with a disinfectant classified to EN1276 (Sterex+). Unico also has an extremely high level disinfectant called Unisafe+ which has been proven to kill a wide range of viruses and fungi including MRSA and Swine flu. The beauty of this product is it is a multi-surface cleaner, non-toxic, colour and fragrance free, and ready to use.
